Queensryche originally covered this song on MTV Live and Unplugged in 1993. The band initially thought it was comical and just a funny song to sing, but their ability to sing the song was remarkable and sounded very good with Geoff Tates pure singing ability and Chris DeGarmos electric guitar. MTV made it so popular that the band officially recorded this studio cover in 2003. Grammy Nominated Empire was the 5th album by Queensrÿche, released on August 20, 1990. The power ballad "Silent Lucidity" reached #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks and #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album reached triple-platinum status. It was re-released on June 10, 2003 with three bonus tracks, one of those tracks was this cover of Scarborough Fair originally sang by Simon and Garfunkel. Queensrÿche is an American progressive hard rock band from Seattle. The band has released 14 studio albums and 5 live albums as well as several compilations, re-releases with bonus tracks and DVDs, they continue to! tour and record today.
